New questions for English and Maths

We’re currently testing new questions for our English and Maths assessments, and need your help and the help of your Year 7 and S1 students!

English: We are testing a mixture of comprehension, punctuation, spelling and grammar skills. The test content is covered in the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Mathematics:  We are testing a range of mathematical skills taught up to the end of the Year 5 national curriculum.

Verbal Reasoning: Studies have shown that there is a high correlation between verbal reasoning and future academic achievement. These tests help measure a student’s academic ability.

Each test will have a test booklet and an answer sheet, which has been pre-printed with student and school details for easy administration.

Northern Ireland: If you're in Northern Ireland, we're only looking for your help with our maths assessments.

If your school takes part, we’ll mark the tests and provide feedback containing standard scores for all participating students and group ranking. Testing will take place between 25 March and 18 April 2019, and we are expecting to have the results ready in May 2019.

Your participation in this study really is invaluable, so to say thank you, all participating schools will be given £250 of free test credits on Testwise, our digital testing platform. This offer is available regardless of whether you currently use our assessments.
