What's the earliest age at which dyslexia can be identified with reasonable accuracy? The answer - and I fervently wish more teachers and parents were aware of it - is four, thanks to a brilliant computer program devised by Lucid Research.John Clare, Education Editor, The Daily Telegraph
The outcome of comprehensive research at the University of Hull and originally published in 2006, Lucid Rapid is widely used by schools in the UK and internationally. Working with the original authors, Rapid has been updated, re-standardised and is now available online on our GL Ready platform.
Rapid is the solution for quick group/class screening for dyslexia in pupils aged 4 to 15. It’s made up of three enjoyable and non-threatening tests that are sensitive cognitive indicators of dyslexia and cover phonological skills, working memory and phonic decoding.
The results of Rapid can be automatically integrated into our more detailed dyslexia diagnostic programs CoPS 4-7 and LASS 8-11.
