Paul Montague, GL Education’s International Consultant for the Middle East will be at our stand to explain how International schools around the world use our assessments to help them accurately understand the abilities of all students, regardless of their primary language, to nurture their academic ability and wellbeing. The data is used by educators to:

  • personalise teaching and learning
  • benchmark and measure classroom progress
  • identify G&T and SEN learners
  • evaluate the effect of interventions.

Effective use of data to improve teaching and learning

This session will be an introduction to the way leading international schools are using a combination of assessments that provide data on students’ ability, attainment and attitudes to learning in order to personalise teaching and learning; improve academic performance and support whole school evaluation.


James Neill, GL Education’s International Director, will explain how the data from these different assessments can be combined to build a holistic picture of each student. He will illustrate this process with a short video case study showing the principal of a leading international school analysing the data of a single student to draw out learning support needs and wellbeing concerns.


James will then be joined by the principals of two/three international schools from Qatar. In a panel discussion they will outline how they are implementing structured assessment programmes in their schools. The session will conclude with an audience Q&A.
